Aspora was solving one of the most under-served problems in fintech: banking for the global Indian diaspora. Millions of NRIs across UAE, UK, and North America were stuck with legacy accounts, punishing remittance fees, and products not designed for their cross-border lives. Aspora built the neobank they deserved.
I joined in 2024 as part of the Growth and PLG function. The mandate was clear — build the pipeline for Aspora's new NRI banking product before the full launch. That meant understanding who the early adopter was, where they congregated, and how to get them into a waitlist that would create natural momentum at launch.
I designed and deployed the PLG waitlist system: positioning frameworks, referral mechanics, onboarding flows, and the content strategy that spoke directly to NRI pain points. The approach was research-first — I ran user interviews, mapped remittance journeys, and identified the exact friction points that made the product a compelling switch.
Over six months, the growth systems I built helped Aspora enhance over $10 million in remittance volume across the UAE and UK corridors. More importantly, it validated the activation loop that would power their full-scale launch — and confirmed Aspora as one of India's fastest-growing fintech startups.
